Many out there are wondering what the latest is with the recent oil spill event that occurred in the Gulf of Mexico. REST ASSURED, ALL OF THE EMERALD COASTS BEACHES ARE OPEN AND COMPLETELY CLEAN! The beaches were packed this past Mother's Day weekend as not a single beach on our beautiful coastline has been remotely touched. Take a look at the links below to see live/daily updates of our wonderful coast and come out for a swim!!!
PAST EVENT: Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival
June 3rd - June 7th
Every summer Billy Bowlegs and his fellow pirate mates pillage the land at the 55th Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival in Fort Walton Beach, FL. The events are held from June 3rd to the 7th, 2010, and include local and regional bands, food, arts and crafts, pirates, a torchlight parade, children’s activities, fireworks and more!
Here is a rundown of the festival:
Thursday, June 3rd
Pirate Walk Downtown (trick or treating, “pirate-style”) - sponsored by the merchants of Historic Downtown Fort Walton Beach (4 to 7pm)
NEW THIS YEAR! Billy Bowlegs Block Party - come and meet Capt. Billy and his crew — check out his pirate ship parade float. Ferry Street (between 98 and First Street) - in conjunction with the Pirate Walk.
2nd Annual Billy Bowlegs Pub Crawl- visit participating clubs/restaurants, beginning at 7pm.
Friday, June 4 - Festival Hours: 3PM to 10PM
Continuous entertainment kicks off with live entertainment and children’s activities, food vendors, arts and craft vendors
7 PM - Skirmish between Capt. Billy and Mayor Mike of Fort Walton Beach
8 PM - Fireworks over Santa Rosa Sound (Fireworks displays being provided by Pyro Shows).
Saturday, June 5 - Festival Hours: 10AM to 9PM
Continuous entertainment with food, children’s activities, arts and crafts vendors.
Approximately 4 PM - anticipated landing of Capt. Billy and his crew.
